Who are Team Pixie?

Team Pixie started as a group of volunteers who registered on the canine community website www.Doglost.co.uk  Anyone who registers on the site will get an email if a dog in their area goes missing. Not only is it free for owners and volunteers alike, it is a fantastic resource if you lose your dog. You suddenly have an army of strangers helping in the search for your missing pooch.

Sue Lilley found this out when she registered her missing Border Terrier Pixie, as missing from Windlesham in Surrey, UK, on the 26 June 2012. Once registered, local volunteers stepped in to help look for the little dog.

And that is how Team Pixie was formed. We are look looking for Pixie Lilley.

Now, with literally thousands of you out there, helping look for her ( and if you don't believe that figure, check out our hits on the homepage), via Twitter, Facebook and the rest of the world wide web, we thought we would find out more about all our members of Team Pixie.

Please add a brief description of yourself and why you have joined Team Pixie in the comments box below. ie. dog lover, Border terrier fan, concerned animal owner. Let everyone know you are part of the Team!
And for everyone who has joined the Team, we thank you.

Please keep looking. She is out there somewhere. Let's bring her home soon. x

MEET TEAM PIXIE:

  1. I'm Heather, I've been a Dog Lost member since we got our rescue Springer Spaniel six years ago. I'm helping with the website, Twitter and Facebook sites, and some postering in Camberley. Although I'm in trouble with FB for trying to make more friends for Pixie than people I know and have been banned temporarily from trying to make more, that doesn't stop me! I have met Sue (Pixie's owner) through the search and I know she has done everything she possibly can to find the littlest member of the Lilley Family. We need all your help, think of this as a shining distress beacon in the sky, fellow Team Pixie members!
    TP, WE NEED YOU NOW!

    2. Thanks , we need as many people as possible looking for Pixie, and also check out Pixie's pals, other dogs missing from this area (Surrey), or consider signing up to doglost as a volunteer. They will email you when a dog is reported missing in your area so you can look out, or even help put posters up and be part of reuniting dog and family.

Pixie is the third dog we've had as a family. Amy (who passed away aged 17, five years ago) was our first, a gorgeous border collie rescue dog from Bellmead (Battersea's branch at Windsor). As Amy got elderly, she was joined by Scout, a loving border collie boy from the RSPCA at Chobham. Then when a little time had gone by after Amy's passing, we decided, just once, to have the puppy experience, and Pixie joined us. As her Mum was struggling to feed a large litter, Pixie came to us at just 7 weeks old. About the size of a guinea pig. From very early on she was the boss of Scout, who fortunately took it in his stride!
Pixie has been a joy. She is relentlessly energetic, enthusiastic and excited about every new day. This year has not been easy with my mother-in-law passing away in May, but Pixie xould always be relied upon to cheer you up, and remind you to live in the moment.
For such a small dog, she leaves a very big, big whole.
